What is Triple P ?

Triple P replaces the ping pong net with an 18″ Pane featuring 3 cut-out openings called Pickle Jars. Hit through them, around them, or bounce off them — fast, family-friendly, and totally new.

How to Play

Stand behind the table end. Bounce the ball through a Pickle Jar — must go through on the first bounce.

  • You make it – Opponent must match or you serve first.
  • Both make it – Keep going until someone misses
  • You miss, they make – Opponent serves first
  • Serve underhand — hit the ball over the Pane without bouncing it on your side first.
  • A let (ball clips top of Pane, lands in play) = re-serve.
  • After the serve, the receiver must let it bounce once. Then the server must also let it bounce once. After that, volleys are allowed.
  • Singles: Ball may land anywhere on the table.
  • Doubles: Ball must land in the diagonal box across the table. Lines and edges are good.
  • Bounce
  • Volley
  • Pickle Jar
  • Ricochet
  • Only the serving team can score a point.
  • If the serving team loses the rally, serve passes to the opponent — no point awarded.
  • Singles: Serve passes immediately. Doubles: Both partners serve before serve changes.
  • First to 11, win by 2.
  • Every rally scores — whoever wins the rally wins the point AND serves next.
  • First to 21, win by 2.
  • Any ball hit through a Pickle Jar earns that team +1 Pickle Point for that rally.
  • At rally’s end: subtract the lower team’s pickle points from the higher team’s — the difference is added to the winning team’s score, regardless of who won the rally.
  • Example: Team A hits 2 through, Team B hits 1 → Team A scores +1 bonus. If both teams hit equal, it cancels out (Pickle Poof!).
  • “You’re in a Pickle!” — When your team is 1 point from winning, you MUST say this to the opponent before serving.
  • The Big Dill

    • Happens when the score is tied at match point (10-10 or 20-20).
    • Scoring switches to rally scoring. Server rotates every play.
    • First team to go ahead by 2 points wins.
    • Don’t forget to say “You’re in a Pickle!” when you take the Big Dill lead!
Key Rules At a Glance

Allowed after ball has bounced once in each court. Waist must be behind the table end.

If a shot bounces off the Pane back to your side, you get 1 more chance to hit it over or through. Ball may only hit the table once on the ricochet.

You may go around the side of the table to retrieve a ball going off the edge — but no volleying from the side.

Hitting the pane during play is legal (play on). Do not touch the Pane with your body or paddle.

Free hand may not touch the table. If the table moves due to contact, the rally is lost.

Ball hitting a player past the table end = that player’s team loses the rally.

The ball must hit the table after going through the Pickle Jar or no Pickle Point is awarded.

Balls hitting the edge of the table are good!

Ball through the jar but doesn’t land in play. No point.

After a ricochet, the ball still goes through the Pickle Jar.

Ball hits the Pane then hits the table edge.
